The Challenge

A top 3 US financial services organization faced the challenge of modernizing an outdated and costly output management software solution that had been in place for nearly 40 years. The legacy system was critical to the organization’s business operations, and its replacement was essential to avoiding a costly renewal scenario.

CPT Global had to complete the initiative within the program defined window to ensure operational continuity and avoid business disruptions. Given the critical business functions supported by the output management software, the transition needed to be seamless, with no interruptions to operations or degradation of user experience.

Our Solution

During the product assessment phase, CPT Global identified Beta Systems’ doc_z and log_z solutions as the best-fit to provide a “like-for-like” experience. Beta Systems became a key partner in the project, working alongside CPT Global and the client to deliver the replacement solution.

CPT Global employed an iterative approach to dissect the existing implementation and collaborated with the client to design the replacement architecture. Given the legacy system’s 40-year history, the initiative also included process improvements to streamline output management, retention, and archiving within the client’s environment.

The project was executed as a multi-wave transition to the Beta Systems’ doc_z and log_z output management solution. In tandem, the program also delivered comprehensive training for business users, administrators, and technical support teams, as well as providing Hypercare warranty support to ensure a smooth transition post-implementation.

CPT Global and Beta Systems delivered the replacement initiative on time and within budget, meeting all critical deadlines thus avoiding a costly license renewal of the legacy system.

The transition met the customers objectives of a seamlessly executed transition , with neither business interruptions to operations or degradation in service to the end user. The new solution not only replicated the functionality of the legacy system but has enabled process improvements that streamlined output management, retention, and archiving to be applied.
