A Fortune 500 investment bank and long-time client urgently needed to modernize their aging IT infrastructure.
Several applications were hard-coded into company systems, and the bank heavily relied on VSAM and internal tables. This created a precarious situation.
Additionally, the team lacked experience with CICSPlex, making it difficult to understand IBM’s documentation and adding complexity.

CPT moved critical applications from single CICS regions to a highly available, redundant, and efficient CICSPlex environment.
Our team leveraged workload sharing and balancing to best utilize system resources and maximize performance. CPT also designed a solution to move existing hard-coded tables to a coupling facility structure with minimal application changes.
We then enabled jobs to call a transaction in any available region using the CICS CPSM API and developed a strategy for moving VSAM data sets into RLS for greater flexibility and scalability.
Finally, CPT provided webinar-based training on all aspects of this technology to educate employees and ensure successful implementation.
